St Paul’s Cathedral Crypt Shop
Client: St Paul’s Cathedral
Location: City of London
Size: 600sqm.
Won in competition, the Crypt Shop at St Paul’s Cathedral was fully refurbished and updated. Once partially closed off to the passing exiting visitors, the shop now has two wide open fronts allowing clear uninterrupted access into the shop.
Our plan re-sited the cash tills from their old central location which freed up vital space for mid floor merchandise fixtures. New modular and mobile fixtures were designed in varying heights and with ‘bin’ inserts for poster and impulse pocket money gifts.
New lighting throughout was designed in conjunction with Lighting Design Collective. This included 4 new Coronas, providing much needed focused lighting onto the new centre floor fixtures. Focal points were created at both ends using illuminated detail artworks of the rich fabric of the building.
Key departments were positioned under these – Jewellery at one end and Children’s at the other. The expanding Jewellery collection was further emphasised by a back illuminated display case and new central display tank.
