Cutty Sark
Visitors Shop
Cutty Sark is the last surviving tea clipper and she is a living testimony to the bygone, glorious days of sail. Cutty Sark has recently been refurbished and re-housed by Grimshaw Architects, who raised the ship to create a unique function space under a glazed roof. Lustedgreen won a competition to design the retail space within the glazed lobby, which created both unique opportunities and challenges. Inspired by traditional tea crates and constructed of elm, the retail units reflect the shipwrightās craftsmanship at the time Cutty Sark was built. The modular units form different arrangements of products grouped and displayed as āstoriesā including Tea, Woolmark and whisky.
