Auction Rooms

Working in collaboration with Land Design Studio, we refurbished and remodelled the auction rooms and viewing galleries for Christie’s in St James’. The design brief focused on transforming the existing rooms into modern, 21st century spaces, that were multi-functional and could endure heavy use. We created a series of flexible and flowing spaces suitable for viewing art, that could be adapted to provide smaller private spaces for auctions, lectures and functions. The design not only had to fit the overall budget and incorporate a significantly upgraded mechanical ventilation, air conditioning and lighting systems, but be delivered in an extremely short timescale of 10 weeks over the summer recess.
