Cinema

Trailfinders

Formerly an adjacent sublet shop unit, the new Cinema is an extension of Trailfinders specialist Premium Travel and Cruise Centre in Kensington, London.

The very challenging linear space measuring 26m x 3.3m, (not ideally suited for a Cinema layout), has been divided up to provide a 14 seat boutique Cinema that can be expanded to 26 seats with temporary seating. This now provides a venue for the showing of new Product presentations between the Travel industry and customers and/or Staff alike. The area used for seating expansion can also be used for new technology travel aides such as the growing introduction of Virtual Reality experiences. In addition, space has been given for additional Telesales space, a service kitchen and toilets.

Acoustic design considerations acknowledged the residential properties above, and the adjacent Travel Centre facilities. Bespoke acoustic wall panelling and ceiling baffles were included and make reference to movement and travel. Each wall panel has a designated City and its mileage from London inscribed in a Bronze trim, listed alongside a classic film associated with that destination – for example, Tokyo, 6214 miles – Lost in Translation, 2003.
