Elderly Care Homes
We are currently working with Bupa on a number of care homes as part of a major refurbishment programme of their portfolio.
The Goldbridge Care Home
The first to be completed is a new build 64-bed care home situated in Haywards Heath in Sussex, this represented a different venture into a 5-star hotel style of home for our client. Lustedgreen were approached to produce a full design package for the front of house areas – which included finishes, furniture and bespoke joinery. The care home was ear-marked to be one of our client’s flagship homes upon its completion, and the brief asked for the interiors to ‘reflect a contemporary 5-star hotel’ – our design incorporates both modern and classic elements in order to achieve a luxurious balance.
Though it was a new build, the Goldbridge would be providing a new home for the residents of the neighbouring Downlands Park Care Home. We worked closely with the team and residents of the existing home in order to ensure that our designs would provide an improved and nurturing care environment. The Goldbridge was to include a dementia unit, we based our designs around both the knowledge and experience of the Downlands Park team, as well as our own research into inclusive design that we have garnered over the years. The furniture we specified came from specialist care home providers, and we worked with Elegant Clutter to carefully select artworks and accessories that were suitable for a care environment. As a result, we were able to produce a final interior design that represented both the needs of the prospective residents and one that met client’s aspirations for a 5-star hotel look & feel.
We worked alongside Henry Riley, Gardiner & Theobald, Bianco Sale and DWA Architects as part of the project team. Our involvement included the co-ordination of our designs with other consultants, as well as regular attendance of site meetings. We were also involved with the final layout and dress out of the rooms after the construction works were complete. This was a project that we had the pleasure to see from concept through to construction and finally hand-over.
